“Our mission is clear: to advocate for meaningful change and to address the pressing concerns of our communities,” said Chairman-elect Rep. Karriem. “We are united as one caucus, with a shared commitment to the issues and aspirations of the approximately 1.1 million Black people in Mississippi.”

"I am honored to be re-elected as Secretary for the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus," said Rep. Summers. "I look forward to working with all members to carry out the vision and the work that keeps our interests at the forefront."

The Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus, founded in 1976, is composed of African American members of the Mississippi Legislature. The Caucus works to ensure equity, justice, and opportunity for all Mississippians, with particular focus on underserved and historically marginalized communities.
