As a state representative, Zakiya’s work goes beyond the walls of the Capitol.
She is deeply involved in her community, advocating for critical issues like healthcare access, economic development, workforce development, and election and education reform. Whether it’s pushing for better job opportunities, affordable housing, championing better teacher pay, or working to ensure equal opportunities for all, Zakiya puts her experience to work every day to create a more just and thriving Mississippi for future generations.
